Ghazanfar Qureshi, MD
Dr. Qureshi graduated from Dow Medical College, Karachi Pakistan. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center/ RWJH, New Jersey. He then completed his general and interventional cardiology training from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center Brooklyn NY. Dr. Qureshi subsequently went for advanced interventional cardiology training in structural heart diseases at Case Western Reserve University/ University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH.
He has also performed clinical research in vascular stiffness and endothelial dysfunction. He has presented his clinical work at multiple national meetings. In recognition to his work he has received “The Robert F. Furchgott Fellowship Award” for outstanding clinical research.
Prior to joining the Atlanta Heart Specialists, Dr. Qureshi has worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of South Alabama, Mobile AL. He has also performed the duties as Director of nuclear medicine at the same institution.
Dr. Qureshi is board certified in Cardiovascular diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine and echocardiography.
Dr. Qureshi is trained to perform nuclear stress testing, echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE). He is proficient in complex coronary interventions including rotational atherectomy and protected PCI with hemodynamic support including Impella. He is also trained in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), left atrial appendage closure (Watchman device), atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closures.
Dr. Qureshi is married with one daughter. He personally enjoys spending his free time with his family. He loves nature and traveling.
