Professional Background
Professional BackgroundGina Varco is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in cardiovascular care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University in 2017 and began her nursing career at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, where she worked as a registered nurse on the Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit. Driven by her passion for cardiology, she pursued a Master of Science in Nursing at Emory University, completing her degree in 2021. Since then, Gina has been providing dedicated care at Atlanta Heart Specialists, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Gina is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care and has extensive experience managing a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, including congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease. She maintains a strong interest in research and ongoing medical education, and facilitates patient participation in clinical studies to support advancements in care.
Outside of her clinical work, Gina enjoys golfing, traveling, spending time with her family and two cats, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
